I am a twenty year old student in Cardiff, who is trying to raise as much money as possible which will enable me to volunteer in Romania. When I arrive, I will be part of a group of 9 others who will be working at a children’s orphanage that cares for the mentally and physically disabled. The project has been running for 20 years, and this summer will be the most important yet. So far we have built a school for the disabled; a hostel for teenagers; money to maintain the staff; but most importantly we shall be giving them the love, care and attention they so desperately deserve. With just one carer to every 60 children, our time is truly valued. Thank you in advance, Kind regards, Chloe Stock Epiphany Trust is a registered charity Registration No. 1006653 John Kennedy CBE DL Rt. Rev. Does this mean existing schemes could be wound up? This could result in big losses as these trust are set to mature over an 18 year period -so by closing them early you increase the risk of getting less out than you've put in. So could you clarify whether your proposal would effect existing child trust funds. Show less »

Show more »Theresa May has been appointed as not just Home Secretary, but as Minister for Women and Equality. Looking into her voting record on gay rights we can see that she has voted - opposing the abolition of Section 28 - against lowering the age of consent in homosexual relationships to 16 - against gay adoption rights - against Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill which would give lesbian couples the ability to receive fertility treatment. Hardly a fighter for equal rights. As one of your constituents I would like your thoughts on her appointment. Show less »

Show more »One. Would the liberal party remove the current charity commission right, to examine complaints against charities in secret ? and to put in its place elected grass root users of services as a panel instead, who would be allowed to publish findings for public scrutiny, and identify charities that are being complained about ? The secrecy is undermining confidence in a fair system. Two: Would the liberal party consider removing the specialist minister for charities and replace them with a panel of users and carers instead, to determine if a charity, is adhering to or abusing its remit, given a number are undermining private endeavour, via charitable tax concessions whilst still hiring corporate professionals ? Should not grass root services be given the same tax exemptions ? To be part of everything we ALL need the same rights and power, users of charitable services do not have ANY rights at present to challenge the way funding is given, or, how it is used. Consultation is at an all time low, and the power to challenge non-extant. Mervyn James (Newport, Wales) Show less »

If you think that Britain has reached capacity in population, what measures do you think might be adopted to control population numbers?
If not, what do you think is the maximum population Britain could sustain?
I would like to stress that the basis of my question is NOT realated to imigration issues. Show less »
